Lightspeed purchased MuleSoft in 2021 and initially leveraged talent from the contract market. The contractor built what was required at the time but did not templatise or document their solutions, rendering Lightspeed unable to reuse existing assets and integrations, which also saw them struggle with resourcing and scalability.

As a result, Lightspeed were not initially realising the true value of a composable enterprise with MuleSoft.
